Winter / Christmas favourites

Hello there, well I think it is fair to say that the party season is well and truly upon us!  Although this period can be incredibly stressful for the most of us I have picked out a few of my favorites to make this Christmas a little easier.

So, lets start at the top.  L'oreal Elnett satin hairspray is THE hairspray classic, I think every blogger has tried this and really, you can't go wrong!  It suits every hair type and it adds texture whilst holding up-do's and down-do's without the horrible crispy feel.  I have the normal strength however, in future I am going to pick up the stronger hold because I think this hairspray could work a bit harder in terms of hold.  This is the choice for anyone who wants to have perfect hair this season.

Of course, as the sun starts to disappear any tan's do too.  So if you are planning on bearing a bit of skin for any parties Dove's summer glow nourishing lotion might be in order!  This helps to perk up your skin a little bit, giving a slight tan and keeping your skin looking moisturized and smooth!  You can also get this product with some shimmer added in which I think would be gorgeous!  If you want to add a bit of colour to your face then of course opt for a bronzer to contour, my favourite is Beneft's Hoola bronzer because it has a matte finish and suits my skin tone all year round!

Right. On to lips!  I think a red lip is always a classic for the festive season, my current favourite is my Body Shop 'copper treat' lipstick, which is no longer available but think warm tones, slightly darker than your average red, this is the closest dupe I could find; Rimmel's lasting finish lipstick.  If you are going for a red lip then a lip liner is essential to help your lippy stay put all night, make sure you blot your lips with tissue and powder before you leave to.  If you want a bit of shine, I love The Body Shop's born lippy, lip balms because they add a subtle hint of colour and shine.  Satsuma shimmer has a bit of sparkle to make any lipstick stand out, this one smells delicious too!
I always suffer from very dry lips at this time of year so I have been using the aloe vera vaseline lip therapy.  I prefer the version with aloe vera because it smells far nicer and seems to do a better job in my opinion.

Of course you cannot go through Christmas without a bit of glitter!  This super glittery loose eyeshadow by models own is just what's needed.  It's not that well pigmented so a wash of this across your eyelids with a winged liner, preferably using the collection fast stroke liquid liner which gives you great control and lasts all night long.  The perfect Christmas eye, in an instant.

Finally, nails. of course a classic red had to make it's way into this post somewhere.  But I have also been loving this grey, shimmery polish as an alternative and this pearly, white polish called 'sugar mouse' by natural collection.

Untill next time, goodbye x
